Sean M. Lavery is a litigator at Fraser Stryker who represents a multitude of clients that include individuals, businesses, insurance carriers and their insureds in general liability matters across Nebraska and Iowa. With over a decade and a half of experience in both civil litigation and criminal prosecution, Sean offers clients strategic, tailored, and results-driven representation focused on clear communication to achieve effective case resolution.

Known for his client-focused, pragmatic approach, Sean works with clients to understand their unique needs to generate responsive strategies for overcoming complex problems. He advises clients through each stage of litigation, from early case evaluation to discovery, depositions, and trial. He is valued for his ability to simplify complex legal issues, provide timely, actionable guidance, and advocate decisively in the courtroom. Sean’s broad multi-jurisdictional experience allows him to manage high-stakes claims across a variety of forums with confidence and precision.

Skilled Trial Advocate

In addition to his proactive approach to litigation, Sean brings a strong foundation in trial advocacy developed during his tenure as a Deputy Douglas County Attorney. In that role, he prosecuted a wide range of criminal matters to include crimes against children, homicides, and white-collar crimes. His extensive courtroom experience now informs his civil practice, where he draws on those skills to craft compelling arguments to effectively represent his clients’ interests.

Sean earned his J.D. from Creighton University School of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board, and his B.S.B.A. in Accounting from Creighton University.

Life Outside Law

Outside of the courtroom, Sean fills much of his time wrangling his 3 young girls and enjoying the occasional quiet moment and good meal with his wife. On rare occasions, he has been known to play a round of golf or attend Creighton Men’s basketball games.
