A: I have always enjoyed trying to solve complex problems. I also loved public speaking and debate in high school and college. I thought I could use those skills to become an effective lawyer. I have also always been fascinated by legal theory and the reasons behind why the law it is the way it is.
A: I was a music major during my first year in college and I thought I wanted to be a Broadway performer. If I was not practicing law, maybe I would be living in New York City on the stage!
A: I have three young kids at home and my husband also has a busy career, so it can feel like a juggling act sometimes. Being able to work in a collaborative, team environment at Fraser Stryker has been invaluable to me in knowing that I always have someone I can rely upon for help when the demands of my personal life prevent me from being able to carry the workload all by myself. Also, being able to leverage our firm technology in order to have the flexibility to work remotely or during non-working hours means that I can meet deadlines and respond to clients on a schedule that works for me and my family.
A: I love getting to listen to live music. Whether it’s a concert at a big arena or a guy with a guitar at a local bar, I always feel energized and recharged getting to relax and listen to live performers.
A: There are so many areas of specialty in law, I am constantly learning about new areas attorneys practice in that I did not even know existed when I was in law school. I would encourage law students or young attorneys to try to shadow or participate in a clerkship or internship at an organization where you can have the chance to get exposed to a wide variety of practice areas. I started working in the energy law space relatively recently and it was not something I had even considered when I was thinking about going to law school. It has now become one of the practice areas I enjoy the most. One of the exciting things about the law as a profession is that it is constantly growing, changing, and evolving, and along with that you never stop learning and growing your area of expertise as a lawyer.
